MAMMOPLASTY PROCEDURE
Mammoplasty or breast surgery is a set of surgical techniques that aim to shape, remodel, reconstruct and, ultimately, model the patient's breast in any of its modalities: increase, reduction, lifting and reconstruction, always preserving its natural morphology.
The mammoplasty can be augmentation, if the surgical technique is aimed at achieving an increase in breast volume through alloplastic materials, prostheses or silicone implants, or a reduction mammoplasty, if it involves modifying the patient's breast size through the elimination of fatty, breast and skin tissue.
MAMMOPLASTY RECOVERY
Your breasts will be bandaged and wrapped in a compression garment to minimize swelling. Some swelling, bruising, and tenderness are common during recovery. Prescription medications can relieve any pain or discomfort. Patients should limit upper body/chest movement to reduce stress on the operated areas. Most patients return to work after a week. Dr. Dávila recommends waiting at least four weeks before resuming vigorous exercise. Additional post-operative instructions will be given to you at your consultation.
