PROCEDURE OF
CERVICAL LIPOSUCTION
Neck liposuction is a facial slimming surgery. It consists of removing excess fat from the neck and jaw angle. The result is a slimmed neck, refining and stylizing the patient's face.
The procedure is performed through minimal incisions of approximately 0.5 cm hidden at the angle of the ear and under the chin. The fat is extracted by gentle suction with thin liposuction cannulas until controlled thinning of the deep and intermediate adipose panicle is achieved. At the end it is not necessary to close the incisions because they are very small and allow natural drainage. The operated region is covered with a compressive garment.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE UNDERGOING CERVICAL LIPOSUCTION
Cervical liposuction is a superficial surgery that covers the neck and, as necessary, also the jaw contour. It can be performed under local anesthesia or supported by minor sedation.
It is important to assess the elasticity of the skin, very flaccid skin will limit the results. In these cases we will recommend laser to increase skin retraction, and in cases of extreme sagging, a cervical lift will be indicated.
RECOVERY OF
CERVICAL LIPOSUCTION
During recovery it is important to wear a compressive chin guard for the first 7 days, 24 hours a day. Then it should be used at night for at least the first month.
There are no stitches to remove, the incisions are minimal and imperceptible.
A few post-liposuction therapy sessions are recommended that include ultrasound and manual lymphatic drainage, which help reduce inflammation and improve the healing process.
